A note on the pronunciation of modal + have

As we saw in Unit 2, these contractions are extremely common in speech:

must have => must've [mʌstəv]

might have => might've [maɪtəv]

could have => could've [kʊdəv]

should have => should've [ʃʊdəv]

can't have => [kænthəv]

Practice hearing the difference between must of (incorrect) and must've (correct). They sound almost the same, but only must have/must've is correct.

Cramming works for tomorrow's test but not for long-term retention. Spreading your study sessions out over days and weeks is far more effective than covering everything in one sitting.
