Sara: What are you up to [ʌp tu:] this weekend?
Marcos: Not much. I need to clean up my apartment. I've been putting it off [pʊtɪŋ ɪt ɔf] for weeks.
S: I know the feeling. I need to fill out some forms [fɔrmz] for work, and I've been putting that off too. Do you want to go out on Saturday night?
M: Sure! Let me look up some restaurants. I heard about a new place. Let me check it out online.
S: Great. Can you pick me up at 8?
M: Of course. Oh, I just found out that my friend Luis is back in town. He showed up yesterday without telling anyone. Should I ask him to come along?
S: Yes! I haven't seen him since he went back to Argentina. We have a lot to catch up on [kætʃ ʌp ɑn].
M: Perfect. I'll call him back. He called me this morning but I couldn't pick up.
Cramming works for tomorrow's test but not for long-term retention. Spreading your study sessions out over days and weeks is far more effective than covering everything in one sitting.
