Conversation

Elena: I went shopping yesterday. I found such a nice jacket!

Pablo: Was it expensive?

E: It was on sale, so it wasn't too bad. The original [ə'rɪdʒɪnəl] price was $200, but I got a 50% discount. It was such a good deal that I couldn't say no.

P: That's great. Was the store crowded ['kraʊdɪd] (llena de gente)?

E: So crowded that I had to wait thirty minutes to pay. And they didn't have enough cashiers [kæ'ʃɪrz] (cajeros). The line was so long!

P: I hate shopping when it's too crowded. I'd rather shop online.

E: Me too, but I wanted to try on the jacket first. The last one I bought online was too small. And the one before that wasn't warm enough.

P: Did the jacket fit?

E: Perfectly. It's so comfortable that I wore it home.
